Dear Reader,
My blog post this week is titled Plucking the Grain. You may recall the incident in chapter two of the Gospel of Mark when the Pharisees accused Jesus’s disciples of violating the Sabbath laws by plucking the grain. In the post, we explore Jesus’s response to their accusation.
However, a second picture to be seen through that occurrence is the disciples’ complete enjoyment as they walked in the companionship of Jesus. It echoes what it must have been like for Adam and Eve to walk with the Lord through the Garden before the Fall and what it can be like for us as we journey through life in the fullness of joy, following Jesus.
The psalmist writes in Psalm 16:11 (ESV): You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
i pray you are walking with Him on that path of joy today, “plucking the grain,” and experiencing the fullness of His presence.
