My Advent NEWSLETTER to my readers’ group

November 29, 2023

Dear Reader,

Greetings from Richmond, Virginia!

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord! (Luke 2:11 ESV)

Those of you who have been a part of this readers’ group for a while know that i began an annual tradition five years ago, which is to post four short stories on my blog and podcast for the Advent season. The stories are my Christmas gift to you as an expression of my thanks for your support and encouragement in this ministry endeavor.

This year i have chosen to share the eyewitness accounts of four adolescents, beginning with Isaac, the son of Abraham. i have included his story as the first of the four so that we might be reminded of the promise of a Savior dating back to the days of Genesis.

The three accounts that will follow are from fictional characters who represent the nameless individuals who experienced the circumstances surrounding the advent of Jesus. Though some of the characters and details contained in each story are fictional, you will find that the truth they reveal is very REAL!

i posted the first story today and will continue to do so next week and for the two Wednesdays that follow. The stories are as follows:

Part 1 as told by Isaac, the son of Abraham (This week – November 29th)

Part 2 as told by Salome, the friend of Mary (December 6th)

Part 3 as told by Yanzu, the servant of Balthazar (December 13th)

Part 4 as told by Ashriel, the great-grandson of Simeon (December 20th)

Each week you will be able to access the story at kenwinter.blog. Just click the link, or type it into your web browser, and it will take you to the week’s post. If you would prefer to listen to each of the stories as an audio recording, you can do so by going to my weekly podcast at kenwinter.org/podcast.

All four of the stories this year are taken from my book, Not Too Little To Know, a collection of ten illustrated short stories written for ages 8 and up for the Advent season. The book is available through Amazon in hard cover, paperback, and for Kindle or Kindle app. It is also available as an audiobook. Click HERE for more information on how you can obtain a copy.
